o Since we are a one-to-one
tech school; shouldn’t need to use phones in class
o If the phone is out in the
classroom, teacher may confiscate
o All teachers on the same
page…
o When kids get in trouble,
they lose their phone
o May bring phone to school,
but keep it in the locker or the backpack
o Parents are part of the
problem—they text their children during school
o Parents are part of the
problem—they expect to contact child during school
o Parents are part of the
problem—they get angry when their child’s phone is confiscated
o Blockers to make cell phones
not function in the school
o No ear buds or phones in the
classroom
o Charging stations in the
classrooms where kids can plug in their phone and not use it
o Shoe organizers for
phones—each student has a numbered box
o A parent mentioned that at
RHS one teacher gives extra credit for a phone in the caddy
o Cell phone policy sent out
in a Skylert message
o Consistent consequences for
cell phone abuse
o A “Summer Welcome Message’
to incoming parents and students
