OHMS PTSA Agenda—March 7, 2019

Treasurer’s Report and Budget: Amy Powell—Balance is $15,395.58

PTSA Report: Andrea Hogan—Capitol trip went well. PTSA students will help with Memory Book, Valentine’s Sucker sales went well. It was suggested to send out an email so parents know about it, and can send money with their students.

Book Fair: Tressa Spigarelli—$1900 approximate sales. Students accepted paying sales tax without complaint. Many leftover posters. Let teachers go through them and extras can go to Mrs. Doehler.

PTA Day at the Capitol: (Rebecca Van Skyhawk – excused due to illness)— was awesome!

Principal’s Report: Mrs. Hunter— Likes working with the supportive community and that is a plus for hiring new staff.

Counseling Center: Mr. Cherry—

·         Job Shadow Day -  All day Job shadowing for 7^th graders was today.

·         Career Day – All day Career Day for 8^th and 9^th graders was today.

·         Walking Field Trip to RHS – on April 3^rd.

·         9^th Grade PCCR’s, Sophomore Orientation, Arena Scheduling Presentation in near future.

·         Fight the New Drug will be next year and needs to be included in the budget.

Eagle of the Quarter: Emily Stout—March 26-28 List is sent and medals ordered.

New Business: Spring Recess: April 15-19

PTA Day at the Capitol: Rebecca Van Skyhawk—Thursday, February 21

PTSA and SBO students will attend with Rebecca, Beth, Ms. Hogan, Mrs. Broadhead, Mrs. Hunter, and Mr. Cherry as chaperones. Bus will leave @ 8:30 and return @ 2:30. Meet with representatives, tour capital, meet Lt. Gov, tour City/County Building. $10 per student for lunch will be provided by the PTSA.

Memory Book: Beth Kunz—Book is coming along. Table at PTC to have parents check for book purchase.

Principal’s Report: Donna Hunter—OHMS is a good fit for her, and she is very happy to be here.

Natalie Terry is the new head secretary. There will be teacher changes, but Mrs. Hunter is working to fill all positions for 2019-2020.

Counseling Center: Steve Cherry

·         Career Day—March 7^th 40 careers represented 2—30” presentations Job shadow for 7^th graders.

·         9^th Grade walking Field Trip to RHS—Thursday February 14^th (Needs sign up 12 parents/2 times)
